Physicals & Check Ups

A physical exam takes an overview of your health, and providers are looking to make sure that things seem to be functioning normally. For instance, they take a visual exam of your eyes, ears, nose, and throat, and feel for lumps. They use instruments to check your reflexes and heart rate.

About Physicals & Check Ups

Sports, camp, school & employment physicals — no appointment needed

Types of physicals offered at Atlanta Urgent Care

The exam takes an overview of your health, and providers are looking to make sure that things seem to be functioning normally. For instance, they take a visual exam of your eyes, ears, nose, and throat, and feel for lumps. They use instruments to check your reflexes and heart rate. Your physician may ask some simple questions about your health history, diet, drug and alcohol use, and so forth.

If your physical reveals an issue that needs more attention, that’s no problem. Atlanta Urgent Care can handle many situations right on-site, with digital X-ray technology and lab testing. Most patients can get the answers, and treatment, they need all within a single visit to our clinic.

Sports physicals: Many sports teams require you to have a physical to ensure you’re healthy enough to play without risk to your health.
Camp physicals: Camps may require a physical to attend. This helps protect everyone’s general health and make sure campers are physically able to perform activities without risk of injury or illness.
Employment physicals: Some workplaces may require new employees to get a physical to ensure they have the physical capabilities necessary to perform job duties. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, the physical exam must be related to the job the applicant will be performing and should only be required after a position is offered.

What do I need to bring with me?

Check with your school, sport, camp or employer regarding what they require. Often, there are specific forms you need the doctor to complete. Please also bring:

Physical form and/or requirements
Insurance card
Identification / driver’s license

School physicals

We are pleased to offer sports physicals and camp physicals whenever it is convenient for you — no appointment required. Routine checkups are vital to ensuring your child is healthy, and it’s a smart idea for starting a successful school year, even if it’s not required by your child’s school.

Please note: a sports, camp, or school physical does not replace your child’s annual physical.
